I just reattached (kind of) a piece of trim I knocked loose by using two hair bands. Good thing I have long hair?
Hopefully it holds until I get home to tools and someplace where I won't have to crawl around in filthy freezing slush. (As in not a parking lot)

O.o how long is your hair?

Over halfway down my back.

Ladies are more equipped to do instant diy than men :P

Evidently. If I'd had my flight bag in my car I would have had tools. So that's what I found digging through my little backpack/purse. FYI ice scrapers do not work as screwdrivers or hammers.

That's an impressive MacGyver job you pulled :)

Thank you. It's amazing what can be found in a purse. ;p Everyone should carry a purse? (Actually I carry a backpack)
So what should go in the ultimate McGyver kit? Duct tape, hair bands, matches, model rocket engines, what else?

My wife hates it when her hair bands get stretched out. She would never do this.

I buy them in bulk. But seriously. Piece of trim I might be able to salvage with the right tools or fifteen cents in hair bands? I think I can sacrifice two hair bands. I think I'll survive the loss. I should probably put some zip ties in my purse or flight bag though. Zip ties go right up there with duct tape.

Yup, I've got a combo pack of various sizes of zip ties in all my cars.

Unfortunately, that thing looks broken, and you will need to replace it, or check for the opinion of a clever metal carpenter.

It's plastic. Some of the attachment tabs are snapped. So hopefully I can find one at a junkyard. Until then though I might be able to get it to hold if I can get the remaining tabs and plastic anchors back in plus replace the missing anchors. Too much plastic on cars.

I'd add AA batteries, copper wires, and chewing gum.

Ah, i miss having long hair...

Grow it back out? Long hair is easier for me. Most days my hair lives in a bun.

ah, yes, you see I no longer have enough of it for that work ;) I mean it's one thing when you're a combo white-boy-jew-'fro and cascading ringlets sort of 20-something, and another entirely when you're a 35 year old dude with enough shiny on top that your half-head pony tail makes you look like an old hippie... If I keep it short and wear a hat I still get carded ;)

Cool! I like stuff like this.

Ah. I'm a late 30's woman. Rock that hat then. I still get carded even for cigarettes. Kind of a pain in the butt sometimes.

Zip ties, duct tape, and a screwdriver. You can fix almost anything.

I used to have hair like this but longer... (not me in the picture, it was too long ago to have any redily available in digital format) I still have a beard like that (ok it has a few streaks of gray..)...

Haha, I've had to use yarn that I had as an emergency fix to tie up a piece of undercarriage panel that was dragging. MacGyvers unite!

Once had to reattach a corolla exhaust with a bungee cord. Bump, pshpshpshhhhhhh. Fixed later with wire ties

Dang, my goal isn't quite that long but at least to the bottom of my shoulders

I keep it long enough so I can just put it up in a nice bun easily. Keeps it out of my face.
